Add and Publish Staged Configs

Follow the steps in this guide to add or update staged configurations, which you can then publish to target instances or instance groups.


This documentation applies to NGINX Management Suite Instance Manager 2.1.0 and later.


Add Staged Config

  1. Open the NGINX Management Suite web interface and log in.
  2. Under Modules, select Instance Manager.
  3. On the Instances overview page, select an instance’s hostname in the list.
  4. Select Edit Config.
  5. Make your desired changes to the instance’s config files. The config analyzer inspects your configuration for errors when you move off the line you’re editing.
  6. To save the changes as a staged config, select Save as and then give the staged config a name.



Update Staged Config

  1. Open the NGINX Management Suite web interface and log in.
  2. Under Modules, select Instance Manager.
  3. In the left menu, select Staged Configs.
  4. On the Staged Configs overview page, select the name of a staged config in the list.
  5. Make your desired changes to the staged config’s files. The config analyzer inspects your configuration for errors when you move off the line you’re editing.
  6. Select Save to save the configuration.



Publish Staged Config

You can publish a staged config to a target instance or instance group.

  1. Open the NGINX Management Suite web interface and log in.
  2. Under Modules, select Instance Manager.
  3. In the left menu, select Staged Configs.
  4. On the Staged Configs overview page, select the name of a staged config in the list.
  5. Select Publish to.
  6. In the publish target list, select an instance or instance group to publish the staged config to.
